Playing Dress Up

This outfit is the cat’s meow (what does that even mean?).

It’s not every day you see a cat printed matching set. What you might now know is that I’m a cat lover…don’t come for me dog lovers. I love anything that has a cat on it, especially knick-knacks, but it’s hard to find “fashionable” cat printed clothing. I understand it might not be everyone’s print, but it’s fun to try unexpected things that aren’t “in” perse.

Fashion is fun and shouldn’t be taken seriously. There’s a time and a place for every outfit but in every day life, fashion should be an expression. When everyone gets so caught up in trends, getting dressed can lose its spontaneity.

Following trends isn’t a bad thing and I’m not against it. Trends are a great guide to help shop for the season and create base looks. It’s just when you start seeing copy and paste outfits, things become stale.

I love that when this set is alone, it’s pretty and cute, but paired with boots and statement hat, it gives a western feel, which is something fun to try for fall.

THRIFTED matching set // COCONUTS BY MATISSE boots // REBECCA MINKOFF bag // HINGE straw hat // OLD NAVY earrings
