I feel like I talk about the weather too much in my posts. But that’s because I dress according to the weather and that affects my mood and what I want to wear. It’s frustrating when you want to put on your new sweaters but it’s 80 degrees outside and that ain’t gonna happen.
Of course now that I get around to shooting and posting this look, everything I’m wearing is now sold out…the struggles of being a blogger.
I’ve never seen anything like this skirt before. Of course trench coats are a fall staple, but have you ever seen one in skirt form?? This skirt is the same material as a trench coat the noise you make when you move in it is included! This skirt is definitely a modern and trendy take on the trench coat, but it’s a great neutral piece to pair with sweaters this winter. I think this a fun trend to try if you can get your hands on a trench skirt!
The past couple of months I’ve been gravitating towards the casual footwear over my heels. My style as of late is all about mixing dressier pieces with casual pieces. I threw on my favorite pair of crisp white sneakers to break up the browns and give the look a laid-back vibe.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and now for Christmas!
ASOS sweater | FOREVER21 skirt | FOREVER21 sneakers | VINTAGE bag | FOREVER21 sunglasses
Those summer tops that you don’t want to put away just yet? Make them into a layering piece!
I love the look and effortlessness of an off the shoulder top, but I’m more comfortable when I’m covered up. I love the casualness the plain white tee adds underneath the flouncy top.
I made it more edgy with my leather skirt and boots. Love this layering tip for the awkward transitional weather! When it gets colder I love doing this trick with turtlenecks as well.
TOBI top |MATISSE boots | LIONEL handbag
You know that one thing you never thought you needed, but once you have it, it makes your life so much better? This sunglasses chain is that for me. It’s a subtle piece but is so chic and classic and adds an elegant vintage touch. I love that each style is named after an old Hollywood star.
2. All the Talk Earrings
Sugarfix Earrings $12
Fringe earrings (similar style here)
I only recently started to get into wearing jewelry, especially earrings, in the past couple of months. I used to go years without wearing earrings. I’ve kind of realized the importance of adding that statement accessory to an outfit to make it more elevated and fun.
Other styles I’m loving:
Love the mixed earring trend! Asos $16
Fraiser Sterling Fake Love Earrings $33
3. Hats Off
Asos Baker Boy hat $26
If you want to get a hat this fall/winter season, I say go for the Baker Boy style. It’s adds a great masculine and cozy feel to a look. I love the beret look, but on other people. I feel like the beret can come off as kind of like a costume piece if you’re not careful. I’m sticking with my Baker Boy hat for this season for the perfect casual element.
