I love sharing. Sharing my outfits and my obsessions with you guys is what I love doing.
This post was just going to be a simple post talking about this look, but when I sat down to write about the clothes, it didn’t seem authentic and there was something more serious I needed to voice.
What a week. A week that went too fast and too slow at the same time. There’s something I wanted to share with you all that I don’t talk about. This is as out of place for me as posting on a Saturday. But here I am, doing both.
I’m not sure how many of you follow me on Instagram, but if you do, you may have noticed that I haven’t posted on there in almost a week, which I haven’t done in years! It’s been that kind of week. I don’t talk a whole lot on my personal life, because honestly I don’t think my life is all that interesting, I’m a real life couch potato. I love fashion and I love that it’s my thing that can set me apart from everyone else and it’s an outlet for creativity. But I feel like I can end up hiding behind my blog. Sometimes it can be all about the clothes and I forget to take care of the person that’s underneath them. Me, Laura. I deal heavily with anxiety and a lot of people don’t know that about me. I hide it and I’m comfortable hiding it because then it means I don’t have to talk about it. Anxiety is such raw subject and it shouldn’t be played off lightly. It’s real. It sucks. It’s exhausting.
This week, my anxiety has been the most prominent it has been in a while. It’s like knowing your worst enemy is coming into town and trying to avoid them at all costs but every corner you turn, they’re there. I can honestly say stepping back and actually taking a break, no posting anywhere has really helped me. I sometimes forget that I’m the one that’s in control of myself, if that makes sense. I forget that I have the authority to say, “Laura, step back breath and just rest” and I’ve just taken time to myself this week. Please remember to take care of yourself before anyone else.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for. – 1 Peter 5:7
Know that there is always someone out there that cares for you and you mean so much to this world.

Having a Roman Holiday moment!
If you keep up with blogger than you would know that the fabulous Chriselle Lim collaborated with one of my favorite brands JOA and it’s such a good collaboration! There were so many pieces that I wanted to pick, but I ended up going for this yellow little number.
Something you probably don’t know about me is that I’ve been obsessed with Audrey Hepburn for as long as I can remember. In Chriselle’s video of her collection, she goes over the inspiration behind the collection and each piece and it’s so up my alley. Like she said this dress is the perfect combo of classic and vintage and the Roman gold color throughout the line is classy and also fun. The perfect pop of color for spring!

A flouncy and airy dress just screams spring! There’s just something about wearing a flowy dress with the weather perfectly warm and a nice breeze, it’s the little things that can boost my mood!
What first attracted me to this dress was the beautiful sage color. It’s such a muted but feminine color and it pairs perfectly with the girliness of the ruffles.
The neutral shoes and bag bring out the effortless and “natural” feel of the dress.
The button-detailing adds the perfect vintage-y touch to this dress!
I love this dress dressed up with heels but I can’t wait to wear this dress with some white sneakers as well for a more casual look.

I’ve got the vintage bug lately…
getting dressed has been fun for me again. I go through waves of loving my style and then not being sure what I love. But recently I’ve been loving unexpected fits with a classic feel and kind of playing “dress up”. When I take my looks to0 seriously or try to fit my style into what I think it should be, it loses it’s authenticity. Fashion’s all about trying new things but also sticking with what you know!
This look is the perfect example of polishly un-polished. The culottes and the smart white blouse are chic and fits of the pieces along with the flats give the perfect effortless touch.
We’re one week away from spring and I can’t wait to bust out all of the pretty pastels, but neutrals this time of year are also such a staple and shouldn’t be left out!
